Bowen Support Groups

Bowen Support Groups offer an opportunity to get-together with Bowen practitioners in your area for networking, information sharing and treatment swaps.  Some practitioners are quite isolated geographically and it can help to know you have the opportunity to connect with colleagues a few times a year. Bowen Support Groups are run by practitioners and open to Full and Associate members.  It is useful to share the coordination of sessions amongst the group members. Small groups meet at people’s houses, larger numbers may hire a venue and share costs associated with this.  Groups cover the following:
  • Discussion of case histories, non-resolving issues (Maintain client confidentiality)
  • Practise/review Bowen moves within your level of qualification
  • Treatment swaps
  • Discuss business development, marketing, promotional activities
  • Identify local events to participate in together, support each other to raise awareness of Bowen and yourselves
  • Review of A&P knowledge, assessments
  • Demand-led CPD training for the group from an accredited trainer.  (It may be easier to arrange for a trainer to come to you, if you have sufficient numbers, than everyone individually travelling to CPD courses.)
Participation in Bowen Support Groups counts towards your annual CPD, 1 CPD point per meeting, to a maximum of 4 points per year.  For those requiring CPD, this is currently after 3 years of membership, having consolidated your practitioner skills in previous years with formal course tuition. The session organiser can complete the Bowen Support Group CPD Submission Form with the attendee names and what was covered in the session and send in to the BAUK Office who will update everyone’s CPD record.
