Carole Justice Gray is the UK coordinator of the European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists (EGCBT) and authorised teacher of Canine Bowen Technique for EGCBT. She has been working as a Human & Canine Bowen Practitioner since 2009 in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire as well as travelling far afield working with dogs. In 2014 after working with and shadowing Sally & Ron Askew for over two years in both the UK and Switzerland, Carole began running and teaching the established EGCBT Canine Bowen Technique self-Interest and practitioner courses in the UK with fellow Canine Bowen Technique practitioner Eileen Smith. Carole is registered with the CNHC the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council which is the government regulatory body for complementary therapies.

Carole has grown up with dogs – mainly Dachshunds and Golden Retrievers – and is now firmly in love with Hungarian Vizsla’s. She lived without a dog only when working in London as an advertising producer in the 1990’s. During this time she satisfied her love of animals by developing a keen interest in horses later becoming involved in Equine and Canine behaviour and training. As a result of this Carole was given a somewhat ‘complicated’ Hungarian Vizsla, who along with her own return from ill health (M.E.) firmly established her obsession with complementary therapies and creating the most positive relationships you can with dogs.

The European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists (see www.caninebowentechnique.com) was founded by Sally & Ron Askew who developed the adaption of Bowen for use on dogs in the UK from 2001. Bowen therapists and experienced canine professionals Sally & Ron Askew intergrated their finding into their established canine behavioural and rehabilitation work and in 2003 with the collaboration of their veterinarian, designed a professional program of training with an holistic approach, for people wishing to become properly skilled Canine Bowen Technique therapists. The course has been running in the UK since 2004 and the EGCBT Practitioner course in Canine Bowen Technique is currently the only course in Bowen for dogs recognised by both the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) and Bowen Association UK.

I am based in Andover and also do home visits to clients around Salisbury, Devizes and Blandford Forum.
I qualified with Bowtech in 2005 for people and in 2008 for horses, dogs and other pets (EMRT/CCMRT).

My clients mostly come with tight, painful muscles or restricted movement, digestive issues, stress and anxiety. Some use their Bowen sessions to help maintain or improve their sporting ability, particularly those competing at veteran level.

Riders and horses can both compensate for each other’s issues, so treating both horse and rider helps optimise the performance of the partnership in their chosen discipline.

I also work with autistic, ADHD and high anxiety children. I worked part-time 2018-2020 at an Alternative Learning Centre for vulnerable/autistic children in Dorset, using coaching and Equine Assisted Learning to help the children improve their social skills, education and emotional resilience. am a fully qualified Human Bowen Therapist (Bowtech UK), trained to the highest level of certification including Special Procedures 2 (SP2) – the Bowtech Masters. I’m also a certified Equine Bowen Therapist (European School of Equine Bowen Therapy) and Animal Bowen Therapist (Canine Bowen Institute Inc.), offering holistic, hands-on care for people and animals across the UAE.

With an advanced skill set and a gentle, targeted approach, I support a wide range of physical, emotional, and neurological conditions — including musculoskeletal pain, postural imbalances, fertility challenges, hormonal issues, stress and anxiety, trauma, digestive disturbances, and sports injuries. I regularly work with adults, children (including those with additional needs), horses, and small animals to help restore balance and resilience.

Human sessions take place in a welcoming home environment, while small animals are treated at Vienna Veterinary Clinic (Dubai). I also offer mobile services for horses and animals throughout the UAE.

As a passionate runner, swimmer, and gym enthusiast, I have a particular interest in injury prevention and performance optimisation. I also love working with rescue animals and neurodivergent children, and find deep meaning in helping every client — human or animal — feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal.
