Canines – THE BOWEN ASSOCIATION UK https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk Feel Better with Bowen Sat, 02 May 2026 21:14:07 +0000 en-GB hourly 1 Angela Cannon https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk/listing/angela-cannon/ https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk/listing/angela-cannon/#respond Tue, 19 Nov 2019 14:21:57 +0000 https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk/listing/angela-cannon/ Thank you for visiting my page.

Just a few lines to introduce myself and share with you how Bowen treatment may benefit you, your wellbeing, ease pain and help restore you to better health.

My interest in complementary therapies began in 1992.  As the years went by I studied and qualified in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Kinesiology and Nutrition, but then in 2000 I came across the Bowen technique, a gentle style of body work developed in Australia by Tom Bowen.

I began to hear from my clients that Bowen eased their back pain, sciatica, and knee discomfort.  Others were telling me that their shoulder and neck stiffness were benefitting from the Bowen treatment too.  Tradespeople with work injuries, and those with sports injuries,  all types of repetitive strains, and lifestyle aches and pains,  began to ask for the Bowen Technique.

The Bowen technique is regarded as a safe treatment of choice for you and your family.  All ages may benefit, from babies to the elderly, as well as youngsters with a variety of ‘growing’ problems.   Sometimes, one or two treatments are all that are needed to begin the changes.

And a word about ‘man’s best friend’ too.  Specialist Bowen is also available for your beloved family dog.  Canine Bowen is a just as gentle and non- invasive as the human Bowen technique.

Carole Justice Gray https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk/listing/carole-justice-gray/ Tue, 19 Nov 2019 14:23:57 +0000 https://www.bowen-technique.co.uk/listing/carole-justice-gray/ Carole Justice Gray is the UK coordinator of the European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists (EGCBT) and authorised teacher of Canine Bowen Technique for EGCBT. She has been working as a Human & Canine Bowen Practitioner since 2009 in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire as well as travelling far afield working with dogs. In 2014 after working with and shadowing Sally & Ron Askew for over two years in both the UK and Switzerland, Carole began running and teaching the established EGCBT Canine Bowen Technique self-Interest and practitioner courses in the UK with fellow Canine Bowen Technique practitioner Eileen Smith. Carole is registered with the CNHC the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council which is the government regulatory body for complementary therapies.

Carole has grown up with dogs – mainly Dachshunds and Golden Retrievers – and is now firmly in love with Hungarian Vizsla’s. She lived without a dog only when working in London as an advertising producer in the 1990’s. During this time she satisfied her love of animals by developing a keen interest in horses later becoming involved in Equine and Canine behaviour and training. As a result of this Carole was given a somewhat ‘complicated’ Hungarian Vizsla, who along with her own return from ill health (M.E.) firmly established her obsession with complementary therapies and creating the most positive relationships you can with dogs.

The European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists (see www.caninebowentechnique.com) was founded by Sally & Ron Askew who developed the adaption of Bowen for use on dogs in the UK from 2001. Bowen therapists and experienced canine professionals Sally & Ron Askew intergrated their finding into their established canine behavioural and rehabilitation work and in 2003 with the collaboration of their veterinarian, designed a professional program of training with an holistic approach, for people wishing to become properly skilled Canine Bowen Technique therapists. The course has been running in the UK since 2004 and the EGCBT Practitioner course in Canine Bowen Technique is currently the only course in Bowen for dogs recognised by both the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) and Bowen Association UK.

Are you feeling stressed out, tense, or just in need of some relaxation? Look no further than the Bowen Technique! This innovative and soothing technique is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and improve their overall well-being.
The Bowen Technique is a gentle, hands-on technique that involves using light touch to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. It is known for its ability to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall health and well-being. Whether you are dealing with physical ailments or simply need a mental break, the Bowen Technique can help you feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
One of the key benefits of the Bowen Technique is its ability to help with a wide range of ailments. From back pain to migraines to digestive issues, this technique can target specific areas of the body to promote healing and relieve discomfort. Many people have found relief from chronic pain and other health issues after just a few sessions of Bowen technique.
Another great thing about the Bowen Technique is that it can be done by a mobile Practitioner, meaning you can enjoy the benefits of this technique in the comfort of your own home. No need to travel to a spa or clinic – simply schedule a session with a qualified Bowen Practitioner and experience the relaxation and healing benefits for yourself. For clients who are not so keen in having the Bowen Technique done in their own home, then please visit me at ‘The Cross Keys Practice, Lincoln House, Princes Risborough’ where I hold a regular clinic.
For those who are unable to see a Practitioner in person, there is also the option of distance Bowen sessions. Through the power of technology, you can still receive the benefits of this therapy from the comfort of your own home. Distance Bowen sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules or limited mobility.
In conclusion, the Bowen Technique is a wonderful technique that can help you relax, soothe your mind and body, and improve your overall health and well-being. Whether you choose to see a mobile Practitioner, opt for distance Bowen sessions, or you are visiting me in clinic, you are sure to experience the healing benefits of this gentle and effective therapy. So why wait? Schedule a Bowen session today and start feeling better tomorrow!
Canine Bowen Technique.

I qualified with Bowtech in 2005 for people and in 2008 for horses, dogs and other pets (EMRT/CCMRT).

My clients mostly come with tight, painful muscles or restricted movement, digestive issues, stress and anxiety.  Some use their Bowen sessions to help maintain or improve their sporting ability, particularly those competing at veteran level.

Riders and horses can both compensate for each other’s issues, so treating both horse and rider helps optimise the performance of the partnership in their chosen discipline.

I also work with autistic, ADHD and high anxiety children.  I worked part-time 2018-2020 at an Alternative Learning Centre for vulnerable/autistic children in Dorset, using coaching and Equine Assisted Learning to help the children improve their social skills, education and emotional resilience.  I am currently running a study into how the Bowen Technique may help such children.  If you wish to be a part of this study, please contact me.
